In terrifying scenes, the man starts punching and kicking seats before fighting the flight attendants after a row broke out on board the Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-283 from Peshawar last Wednesday.

The passenger reportedly started acting erratically shortly after takeoff and demanded to be taken back to Pakistan, according to sources quoted in the Pakistani publication Dawn.

He started praying loudly in the middle of the aisle while the seatbelt light was still on, prompting cabin crew to return him to his seat.

In both videos filmed inside the Airbus A320, the man was barefoot.

He was wearing a vest underneath his shirt which he took off later during the flight along with his skullcap.

As he became more and more aggressive, the captain contacted air traffic control in Dubai to ask for security to meet them when they landed and escort the man away.

He then began punching and kicking the seats, damaging a window shutter with his feet and sparking panic among the flight’s other 160 passengers.

Cabin crew were forced to physically restrain him after he turned violent.

Abdullah Khan, a spokesman for PIA, told The National: “He seemed pretty OK when he went through the check-in counters and immigration.

“He had a return ticket and was going to Dubai on a visit visa.

“It was when the plane took off that he started giving azaans [call to prayer] very loudly and the crew asked him not to.

“He became agitated and then got into the aisle and lay down on his chest and said he was offering prayers. He was asked to sit down but then he kicked the window of the plane.

“It became very clear he was not in his right mind. And because he was in such a state and becoming violent, as per the rules, he was tied to his seat.”
