Syria reports three deaths from cholera outbreak

As told in the Kurdish Autonomous Administration, not recognized by Damascus, as a result of an outbreak of cholera, three people died in Raqqa and in the Deir ez-Zor region. It is reported that the administration’s health department has asked foreign countries to provide humanitarian assistance to defeat the disease.

It is reported that the number of cases in the territory controlled by the Kurdish administration has already exceeded 15 people. As noted in the Syrian Ministry of Health, a similar situation is observed in the province of Aleppo. More than 15 cases of cholera infection have also been recorded there.

It is known that the first case was a nine-year-old child who has already received medical care and was discharged.

It is noted that as part of the checks, samples of cholera were found in sewage and at an ice plant. After the discovery of the virus, the business was immediately closed.

Earlier, on July 11, Rospotrebnadzor announced that there were no cases of cholera infection in Russia. It is noted that the regulator is taking all necessary measures to prevent the importation of the disease into Russia, as well as to stop the possibility of its spread. On the same day, information about the first case of cholera in China was confirmed.
