The 15-year-old girl whose disappearance sparked a nationwide manhunt has been found safe and sound, MailOnline can reveal.

Avon and Somerset Police launched a nationwide appeal last night for information about the missing youngster after she had not been seen for 15 days.

This morning her heartbroken mother, Melanie, made her own tearful appeal for Maddie to come home.

Mother Melanie said from the doorstep of her house, “Melanie, please come home.

“Please contact us and tell us you are safe.”

She added: “Whatever happened, it doesn’t matter. You’re not in trouble. We just want you to come home.”

Maddie was rescued from a house in Bristol around lunchtime today.

Men were arrested at the property on suspicion of kidnapping the 15-year-old.

Detectives told Maddie’s parents and foster parents that she had been located.

Detective Inspector Laura Miller, who led the manhunt for Maddie, said: “We are pleased to confirm that Maddie has been found.

“Three men are in custody and will soon be questioned by officers.

“We are extremely grateful for all the support the public has given us in our search for Maddie and want to reassure them that she is now getting all the care and support she needs.

“We appreciate that there is a lot of interest in this case and I would like to ask people not to speculate and think about the impact it could have on Maddie and her loved ones.”
